10. Commander Shepard from Mass Effect
Let's be honest with ourselves, what more could a woman want than a man she can tailor to her liking? Cue in Commander Shepard who saves the world from a huge alien threat, all while obeying your every command literally. Sure, you had the option to play as a woman commander, but who could pass up the opportunity to make a man using whatever combinations they want? These games were hella addictive, and having a fun hunk of your own design made it all the more enjoyable.
9. Professor Sycamore from Pokemon X and Y
So you're catching some cute Fletchling's and Pancham's in the wild until you reach the metropolis of Kalos, Lumiose City. You've heard from your friends about this Professor, who for a Professor in a Pokemon game, has been taking his sweet time to make an appearance. But once you meet him you hear that theme song of his play... you're instantly smitten! His curly coiffed hair and subtle stubble will instantly win you over, plus he gives you one of the original starters! And did I mention... he's French?! Too bad Pokemon didn't have some sort of social sim integrated into the game!
8. Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher
If you haven't played the Witcher, especially the Witcher 2, you should just for Geralt. His dark moody character looks amazing in the sequel, and the game gets a much need update that is welcoming to a lady's eyes. He's frequently shirtless, and gets the ladies (he'll win you over too). Not only that, but you can make him a good guy, or a bad guy depending on the moral choices you make. So if you're into the bad boy you can go for that route plus get interesting plot points. Or if you like the good guy you can see where that'll take you. Or you can play both plot points and get double the Geralt!
7. Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden
Do you remember the ninja hunk beating up the bad guys in 8-bit? Well I do! Ninja Gaiden on the NES was one of the very first games to feature cutscenes. Any old girl gamer can appreciate a hero in detail saving the girl, and Ryu's eyes had taken me in! 20 years later he's looking fantastic in HD, with those same smouldering eyes. He's a traditional ninja who fights with honor, and for those looking for the ultimate hero to sweep you off your feet, Ryu's it.
6. Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid
Let's go back a few years before Snake became an old man (although he's aged well). He was a lean mean fighting machine who packed a punch while being as quiet as a mouse. If his skill doesn't win you over maybe his voice will, his rugged smokey voice was always fun to listen to in every cutscene. And he did all that badassery in a skin tight suit. Can us ladies complain? Yes we can! If they keep making him old! Bring back young Snake!
5. Dante from Devil May Cry
If you're not into the rugged army type then Dante is probably more up your alley. Slick, edgy and great with a sword (and gun!), Dante was not only featured in addicting games, but he walloped baddies in style. He may be misunderstood and a bit angsty, but we love his scowl! Rarely does white hair look good, but Dante pulls it off well. Hell! Even with black hair he looked great. You gotta love Dante's swordplay.
4. Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4
How could there be a hotty list without Leon on it? Not only was Resident Evil 4 an amazing game, but seeing Leon wielding a gun was easy on the eyes when most of the time you're looking at rotting flesh. Cool under pressure and a skilled killer he became a bit of a video game heartthrob legend. In a zombie apocalypse I'd love to fight by his side any day! I mean look at that hair.
3. Link from Legend of Zelda
I remember being about 7 or 8 playing Ocarina of Time for the first time on my N64. Young Link was alright, but he was kind of lame in some ways. I mean he couldn't even hold the Hylian shield properly. But once he jumped in time to adult Link, well he was a whole new man! Sporting earrings and a sexy deeper voice he had become a man ready to save Princess Zelda. And you got to admit, he was a bit of a ladies man, with Zelda, Princess Ruto, Malon (and arguably Epona!) loving this humble Kokiri hero.
2. Miles Edgeworth from Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright
If you've ever played the Phoenix Wright games, then you saw this one coming. Miles Edgeworth is the perfect gentleman, who has a bit of bite in him. He's the perfect rival for Phoenix, and you just fall for his clever devious attitude. Sure being the good guy is fun, but Miles had the kind of troubling past that made for a dynamic interesting and lovable character. Every appearance he makes gets you jumping with DS in hand awaiting his sarcastic remarks. You've got a special place in my heart Edgey.
1. Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7
From ultimate hero, to ultimate bad guy. Sephiroth is the hottest, most stylish bad guy in gaming. Who else could pull off long white hair that falls to the ankles? Sometimes going for the bad guy is fun, and Sephiroth is definitely the bad guy you want to fall for. Not only was he in one of the best rpg titles of all time, but he has an epic theme song! Sephiroth hits all the targets that will make any rpg gamer swoon.
Honourable Mentions
These guys just didn't make the cut, but I love them, so let's quickly recap those who were almost in my top 10. Plus, it never hurts to add a few more guys to an already awesome list.N from Pokemon Black and White
Admit it, even though he has green hair his love for Pokemon knew no bounds. The animal-lover good guy turned bad guy was the perfect adversary in one of my favourite titles of the series. N made the story of Pokemon Black and White, and made Pokemon history with his altruistic mission. He had us smitten with his sad back-story, and I will never forget him!
Master Chief from Halo
I know what you're thinking, you never see Master Chief's face! But let's be honest, he saves the universe all on his own and has some awesome voice-acting work. He's got enough patience to handle Cortana's breakdown in Halo 4, and he's cool and calm to handle some of the most isolating or hectic moments. I know you're a hunk under that suit Master Chief.
Cole Phelps from L.A. Noire
If you've ever watched Madmen then you'd love playing L.A. Noire (so much of the cast is in this game!). One of the most fun crime-fighting drama games on console, I loved every minute of L.A. Noire, including experiencing the highs and lows of the dynamic character Cole Phelps. Modeled after real actor Aaron Staton, he is such a heartthrob in uniform. Cole was fighting for the greater fight, and with a face like Aaron Staton's I could interrogate those witnesses all day..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I hoped you liked the list! It was a lot of fun to make, and obviously a little silly! I'm not secretly pining after these guys but I think sometimes it's fun to take a little creative liberty on a topic rarely discussed. I'd also love to know who you thought was a hunk who I might've missed! Leave your opinion in the comments below!
